The idea originated from studying findings of recent Research. Primarily the charitable organisation Stem 4, who conducted research into the psychological well-being of our young. The full report is accessible here
We discovered that anxiety was a common denominator within the education system. For example, top of the list for pupils was anxiety over exams (41%), followed by work overload (31%), lack of confidence (26%), friendship concerns (28%) and body image (26%). To sum up these findings was a statement that, “Between the age 16 – One in ten young people will be diagnosed with a mental disorder”.
These statistics prompted the initiative to build this programme capable of reducing these figures.
