Conquering Life Academy:

Q: What is Conquering Life Programme?

Conquering Life Programme is a psychological and emotional training programme designed to help 10-16 year olds develop a strong psychological foundation, build emotional resilience and constant levels of self-esteem in order to help them deal with the myriad of challenges they face at this crucial time in their lives.

Q: Where does the idea come from?

The idea originated from studying findings of recent Research. Primarily  the charitable organisation Stem 4, who conducted research into the psychological well-being of our young.

We discovered that anxiety was a common denominator within the education system. For example, top of the list for pupils was anxiety over exams (41%), followed by work overload (31%), lack of confidence (26%), friendship concerns (28%) and body image (26%). To sum up these findings was a statement that, “Between the age 16 – One in ten young people will be diagnosed with a mental disorder”.

These statistics prompted the initiative to build this programme designed to help reduce these figures.

Q: Why does my child need to join?

The transition from childhood to adulthood is the most crucial period of change in our lives. There are myriad of challenges a young person faces during this time.

While the school curriculum has begun to integrate these issues into the classroom, there remains a distinct deficit in education and the discussion concerning these life skills and lessons with the children. Many of the reasons for are external forces beyond their control. The programme is designed to compliment their education.
